Libby began commando crawling when she was 2.5 years old and managed to crawl properly (4 point crawling) at the age of 3. As a parent you are always on the look out for other options that could improve the ability of your child, it’s not only about the walking, it’s about being able to dress yourself, go to the toilet, get in the bath, brush your hair and things that we take for granted. We came across Conductive Education, this became our lifeline and at the age of 3 Libby began attending the Cerebral Palsy Care Centre in Cliffe Woods near Rochester, twice a week. Conductive Education taught Libby and the family to use her capabilities to a maximum and Libby went from crawling and sitting propped up, to sitting alone without support, pulling up to standing, walking with a frame and then tripod sticks.
